It was a stunning October morning with not a cloud in the sky as I set off for The Ocean Beach Hotel and Spa in Bournemouth. This was to be the first half of Rebecca and Alex’s wedding celebrations as they had chosen to split their day across the weekend.
As usual, I arrived earlier than required, so I met up with the very relaxed Alex and we took a lovely stroll along the beach where they were hoping to have some of their photos taken after the ceremony. He was extremely calm about the whole affair and it was a great chance to chat through the finer details of the upcoming proceedings and get to know him better.
The girls had commandeered room 125 as the base for their preparations and it was also very tranquil when I arrived here too, despite the poor make-up artist being extremely unwell throughout the entire morning. The show must go on as they say and she did an amazing job battling through to pamper Paige, the Maid of Honour, who Rebecca met at work 4 years ago, bridesmaid Hannah, a long-term friend from school, and Cassia (Rebecca’s daughter) and Sophie (Alex’s daughter), the excited flower girls. Nanny Glatis and Rebecca’s mum also had the full treatment! My favourite shot to be captured during the morning was a beautiful reflection of Rebecca in a full-length mirror, as her Maid of Honour and Bridesmaid looked on. I can’t claim full credit for this one though I’m afraid as it was Paige who suggested it and acted as creative director!! (I’ll definitely be stealing this idea!).
