Lydia and Andy were to be married in St Mary’s Church in Hayes, Middlesex, on 1st July, and they allowed me the privilege of capturing their special day. In preparation, I travelled from home the day before the wedding and paid a visit to the beautiful church on my way to my hotel. I could tell it was going to be a fabulous day.
The next morning, I arrived at Andy’s parents’ house at 9am, greeted by a gaggle of excited people ready to begin the bridal party’s preparations. Make up artist Stacey and hairdressers Marie, Tash and Tracey were all on hand and they had a busy morning ahead – as well as bride Lydia, there was Carla (maid of honour), Chloe, Rhea, Chloe and Paige (bridesmaids) and not forgetting the boys! Noah and Ollie, Lydia and Andy’s two sons, as well as Harrison and Archie, were all there patiently waiting for their pampering too!!
A trip to the local cafe for a big breakfast for the boys meant the girls could get on with the hair and make up. Lydia was looking radiant, and taking all the preparations in her stride, not a mean feat for any bride, but as Lydia is 28 weeks pregnant she coped amazingly well.
A lovely sandwich buffet was in order after all the preparations and then it was all hands on deck. I’m always happy lending a helping hand and today was no exception. Father of the bride, Bob, needed some assistance with his cufflinks and cravat and then it was on to dress zip duty and cutting off labels. Then it was my cue to leave and make the 40 minute journey to the church to get some cracking shots of the Groom, his Best Man Dan and his Ushers.
Lydia and her beautiful entourage arrived in a white hummer as Andy and Dan had a swift shot of liquor to steady the nerves! As she entered the church, it was all a little too much for our blushing bride and Lydia couldn’t hold back the tears. After a lovely ceremony with readings from close friends, the new Mr and Mrs Willmott exited the church to a flurry of confetti and cheers from all their lovely friends and family.
